ab_booking 0.4.5
I just released version 0.4.5 of my TYPO3 extension ab_booking. This extension is used e.g. at Weltcafe Dresden for the booking of the guest rooms.
But also on several sites around the world, the extension is used now. I updated the reference list on the demo site ab_booking.bigga.de. Unfortunately, a lot of people use the extension but don't report it. And it's rather difficult to search for it.
I should implement a backdoor.... NO, I won't do such nasty things! So please, just let me know, if you want to see your project on the reference list!
What's new?
Some bugfixes and two new features:
- You may add a minimum stay period to the prices table. There is currently no global setting for this.
- Additionially you may set a period of days which will be appended to the booking. This is useful if you want to have 1, 2 or more days to clean the room or the caravane or whatever.
There are plenty of feature requests by myself and people sending it by mail. It's better to send it via the forge bugtracker! Then everybody can comment it and can follow the development.
Maybe, I should now start refacturing the codebase? Let's see.
Depature Monitor for Public Transports in Dresden on m.bigga.de
Like in many other towns you find in Dresden "Depature Monitors" at the bus and tramway stations.
The public transport company in Dresden released some widgets in 2009 to place a widget on your desktop. That's fine for the plenty of people sitting in front of their computers up to the evening and don't want to wait long time for the tram to get home.
But really interessting is this depature monitor if you can access it from everywhere - using you cellphone. For these people the DVB offers a WAP page. But this is not very userfriendly.
Many projects startet to grab the depature information from the widget interface. From wget to iPhone and Android Apps.
Today, I release another approach: The ab_vvo_depmon TYPO3 extension. This is running on m.bigga.de. A minimalistic website you may use with your mobile browser. Or use it with your desktop browser. Some features:
- update every 60s
- data is cached in local database to reduce request to the widget server
- select the vehicle categories (bus, tram, train)
- remove destinations by clicking on it
- save the hole URL as bookmark to access your station quickly
This is a private service without any warranty. Maybe you find it useful.

new ab_booking bugfix release - now with demo-page
ab_booking 0.4.2 online
Today, a new bugfix release of my TYPO3 booking extension is online. Starting with this version, a demo-page is setup to allow you to play with it. You may book rooms, check availability and have a look at the booking calendar.
There is a read-only access to the TYPO3 backend which makes it more easy to understand the site structure and the configuration of the extension plugin. Just try it!
My First Typo3 Extension is available: ab_booking
Recently I released version 0.2.1 of my first typo3 extension ab_booking.
With ab_booking you can offer rooms (or whatever) and let user book it for some days. The booking will be entered and you will receive an email with the user data.
